Natural Collagen Therapy

Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT) stimulates the natural collagen within your body. CIT regenerates the skin below the surface—making you look and feel younger!

What is Collagen?

Collagen is a protein that is found in more than half of all mammals. It is situated in the white fibres of connective tissue, cartilage and bones.

In simpler terms, collagen is found in several corporeal structures, including the tendons and ligaments. It makes up 30 percent of all proteins in the body and is vital to skin cell health. Skin is strengthened by collagen, which also is responsible for its elastic qualities.

How is CIT Different From Traditional Cosmetic Surgery?

The CIT procedure is simple and non-invasive. Treatment invovles micro-needling the patient’s skin with a medical dermaroller or dermapen. Dermal needling allows the skin to repair, strengthen and rejuvenate through a controlled wound healing response.

Micro trauma to the skin results in our skin moving from a maintenance to a repar mode which results in 9x greater cell turnover.

repair cells rush to the site, remove damaged cells and release growth factors which have a number of functions including laying down of stronger collagen and elastin.

By creating micro channels in the skin, we can then feed the skin with suitable ingredients / serums to create our best skin.

Typically, this procedure is performed more than once over a six week period. In some cases, three to four treatments are necessary.

Who Should Consider CIT?

As the body ages, collagen production decreases, causing several adverse side effects:

  • Body structures begin to lose their strength.
  • Skin becomes fragile and loses elasticity.
  • Wrinkles appear.
  • Hair loses its youthful colour.
  • Joints lose flexibility.
  • Bones deteriorate.

Although these characteristics are prevalent in elderly populations, a range of demographics turn to collagen to prevent the adverse effects of aging.
