Botox

Our Doctors and Registered Nurses use Botulinum Toxin, including Dysport® and Xeomin® treatments to relax the facial muscles that create fine lines and wrinkles and prevent further deepening of lines.

Botulinum Toxin for fine lines & wrinkles

This is a simple procedure, with tiny injections placed directly into the treated muscles. However, there is an art and a science to injecting muscle relaxants.

To achieve the best and most natural-looking results, the product must be placed in the right muscle, at the correct depth, at an ideal dose, and by an experienced practitioner. The most common areas we treat are the frown lines, or ‘grumpy lines’, the horizontal ‘worry’ lines on the forehead, and the ‘crow's feet’ around the eyes.

Botulinum Toxin for excessive sweating

Botulinum Toxin for Excessive Sweating. You may be surprised to know that excessive sweating can be treated with Botulinum Toxin. The results are outstanding and can last up to one year. No more worrying about sweaty underarms or clammy palms as this is a very effective solution to a previously difficult-to-treat condition. Botulinum Toxin helps control this condition by temporarily blocking the chemical signals from the nerves that stimulate the sweat glands. When the sweat glands don't receive chemical signals, the severe sweating stops. Botulinum Toxin may be used on the hands, underarms, feet and face.

FAQ

How long does Botox last?

Treated facial muscles will gradually return to their normal action three to five months after treatment, depending on the individual. Our bodies regenerate neuromuscular connections, which means that all muscle activity will return to normal over time.

How long does Botox take to work?

Results will be visible three to ten days from the day of treatment. We suggest a review at two weeks post-treatment to ensure you have the best outcome.

Does Botox hurt?

A professional Botulinum Toxin treatment has minimal discomfort and often the fine needle is not felt at all.

How long does a Botox treatment take?

A Botulinum Toxin treatment itself only takes a few minutes, less time than the consultation. However, the full consultation and facial assessment is important to ensure clients have all the information they need and treatment is tailored to the individual.

What areas of the face is Botox used for?

Botulinum Toxin is most commonly used cosmetically for the following areas: crow’s feet, squint lines, forehead lines, and frown lines (vertical lines between the brows).

What is Botox made from?

Botox is Botulinum Toxin that has been created in a laboratory. It is a purified protein. It is not derived from animals. A part of its production involves a specific type of bacteria, much like penicillin is created from mould.

Is Botox safe?

Botox treatment is one of the safest treatments available in the cosmetic industry today. Any side effects are always temporary and minor, which is a reason Botox is currently the most popular treatment for looking fresh and youthful, around the world.

Does Botox make your wrinkles worse when it wears off?

Facial muscles gradually revert to normal over time as the Botulinum Toxin wears off. The treatment does not cause any damage to facial muscles. Without continued treatment, the normal ageing of the face will continue and more lines will appear.

Is Botox for women and men?

Yes, Botulinum Toxin is an excellent cosmetic treatment for both men and women. Men may need a slightly larger treatment dose, due to their stronger facial muscle contractions, which would be discussed during a consultation.

Who performs the Botox treatment?

A Botulinum Toxin treatment is performed by one of our specifically trained and qualified Doctors or Registered Nurses.
