MINT Thread Lift
Face Value offers the MINT Thread Lift, a safe and minimally invasive procedure using absorbable threads to redefine and restore lost elasticity and volume to the face, creating a beautiful and natural result.
The MINT Thread Lift:
The MINT Thread Lift does two things; firstly, the threads cause tension in the skin which gives an immediate lifting effect. Secondly, the material that the threads are made of, PDO, stimulates the production of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid in the skin which results in firmer skin. It is far less invasive than traditional facelift surgery and more convenient, involves less risk and is less expensive. The procedure takes around 60 minutes and local anaesthetic is used to minimise any discomfort.
MINT Mono threads:
Mono threads are fine smooth threads without barbs which are used for skin tightening when lifting is not necessarily required. The threads are made of Polydioxanone (PDO) which is used in
dissolvable sutures.
The threads are pre-threaded on a fine needle which is inserted into the dermal layer of the skin. The needle is removed leaving the fine hair-like thread in the dermis. Multiple threads are placed into the area in a mesh like fashion which activates the production of collagen to gradually tighten and rejuvenate the skin. Over a period of around three months the threads fully dissolve leaving firmer, more youthful looking skin.
FAQ
Who is suitable for this procedure?
This procedure is recommended for both men and women, over the age of 30, who are showing signs of ageing but do not want to undergo a full facelift or any invasive surgery. The MINT Thread Lift treatment exists as a non-surgical alternative to invasive surgery.
Which areas can be treated with the MINT Thread Lift?
MINT lift can be used to treat many different areas of the face:
- Facial Contour: redefines the contour of the face, firming the skin and giving a fuller look to the cheeks
- Lower Jaw: the contour of the face regains definition
- Cheeks: the cheeks and cheekbones appear fuller and the nasolabial fold is reduced
What does the procedure involve?
A small injection of local anaesthetic is applied to the area being treated, then the thread is placed under the skin. This is done usually through a small incision or with a fine needle. Once the thread is in place, slight compression of the tissue is performed to reshape it by hand and to obtain the desired lifting effect. There may be slight swelling or bruising following the treatment; this will subside within a few days. Some discomfort may be experienced but can be managed with Paracetamol.
When can I see results and how long will it last?
Results can be seen immediately and will continue to improve over time. Full results may be seen around 6-12 weeks post procedure and will last up to 12 months.
