Profhilo®

What is Profhilo and how does it work?

The first of its kind, Profhilo is a unique ultra-pure injectable Hyaluronic Acid moisturising treatment. It is injected at precise points in the skin to stimulate the skin cell receptors to counteract skin laxity, and improve and restore firmness. It not only boosts and hydrates the skin, but also remodels ageing and lax tissue.

Unlike wrinkle reducing and dermal filler treatments, Profhilo stimulates collagen and elastin, attracting water in the deeper layers of the skin to promote hydration. The stimulation results in significant tissue improvement.

Developed in Italy in 2015 it is widely used in Europe, but relatively new to New Zealand.

Who is suitable for Profhilo?

As the body’s natural production of collagen and elastin falls dramatically from age 30, Profhilo is suitable for both men and women of any age. While it reduces visible signs of aging, Profhilo treatments are also a great preventative measure for avoiding loss of volume and dull, tired looking skin. For those with more mature skin, the treatments are excellent at increasing firmness, addressing laxity and replenishing lost volume. The most popular treatment areas are the face, neck and hands.

How is it administered?

Following a consultation and assessment, Dr Frost will inject the product into precise points in your skin in a two-step process, four to six weeks apart, after which results will be visible. There is minimal discomfort and no downtime. You can expect slight redness at the injection point following the treatment however this disappears quickly. There is some risk of slight bruising. We recommend maintenance treatments every 6 – 12 months.

What is the Cost?

Two treatments are required at a total cost of $1,600.
